Vilcabamba Glimpse #20

The Roads...Then

The four attached photos show what the roads looked like at the ranch, Hacienda San Joaquin, when I purchased the property in July 2005.

We began the transformation of the road (there was only one then...about 1.2 miles or 2 kilometers ) in December 2005.

At that time, barbed wire was attached to the trees along the roads to form pastures. It took us about two months with four men working full time to remove the barbed wire from those and other trees.

oday, there are approximately 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) of roads at the hacienda.

Photos of the new roads follow in Vilcabamba Glimpse #20, The Roads...Now.

The photos:

The Roads...Now...#1

The 2.5 mile (4 kilometer) tree-lined road system on the 663-acre ranch, Hacienda San Joaquin, is beautiful. It is ideal for walking, jogging, bicycling and horseback riding. In addition, we are now creating hikng and horseback riding trails throughout the mountains on the north side of the property. Maps of these trails will be posted at the Information Center in the Equestrian and Hiking Center of the ranch.
