Vilcabamba Glimpse #67

Hacienda San Joaquin Hiking and Horseback Riding Trail

My wife (Susana) and I hiked our Hacienda San Joaquin trail yesterday. It's an incredible experience. It stretches from our Equestrian and Hiking Center (see trail between low walls in the first photo) near our western boundary to our hotel (under construction) shown in the last photo near our eastern boundary. Our workers did a tremendous job cutting and building this trail. We have plans to add some additional routes to the trail.

It took us a little over an hour and half to complete the trail walking at a moderate pace. The views from the trail, some are shown in the photos, are spectacular as one is often walking on the ridge line which forms our northern boundary. The trail, on average about two meters wide, is very clear and easy to walk albeit there are some challenging uphill climbs. It's wonderful exercise in a pristine environment. As it is Hacienda San Joaquin's own trail, it is very private and one is unlikely to encounter anyone during their peaceful and exuberant walk.
