Vilcabamba Glimpse #46

Views of Ongoing Projects

At the ranch, Hacienda San Joaquin, there are always numerous projects ongoing simultaneously. Past Glimpses have described completed projects such as the Equestrian and Hiking Center, River Park, Main Entrance, Volleyball Stadium, Ponds and Gardens, the Reception Center and Guest House, multiple corrals, our hiking and horseback riding trails, stone walls that line the roads, and infrastructure (roads, water, electric and internet systems).

The photos in this Glimpse provide views of some of our ongoing projects. These include custom designed homes on properties L2, L9A, L11, Q6 and a guest house on my home site; our new administration building (offices, reception center, a large meeting and class room, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.); a riverside plant nursery; extensive landscaping; more roadside and new riverfront stone walls; new planters with bottle-brush trees that line the road just outside our entrance; a pump house and reservoirs for water system three; a horse stable on a private property; a beautiful stone and paver road to property Q12; clearing the area for our new riverside health spa; and the creation of roads and terraces for our hotel, cabanas and new home sites. Never a dull moment here. J

Note: To the left of and a little down from the peak of the gatehouse roof, you can see a light-colored area on the mountain. That is the site of our future hotel and cabanas, Sunrise at Hacienda San Joaquin. The site is spectacular. The views are extraordinary. We plan to have this operational in 2009. Much more on all of this soon.
